To Dorothy on Her Birthday (1970)

A family poem by Mike — faithfully transcribed and preserved.

Typed transcription

This card may mark the day
But there is so much I could say
Of the years we’ve shared together.

Our spells of parting were not sought
But you were always a constant thought,
Then back with a smile and gentle kiss.

So, once again, salute another year
With thanks and hope, but not I fear
Your just reward, only my love, my love.
